Licensed partners
Some parts of shipping are regulated. Only licensed people and companies may do them. We do not do that work ourselves. We arrange it with licensed partners and coordinate it with the rest of your job. This page lists the areas and what each covers.
Why a licence matters
A licence shows that a person or company may carry out a regulated task and answer to the authority for it. Rules differ by task, cargo and place, so we check which licence a job needs when we plan it, then bring in the right partner. We do not name partners on this site.
Customs declarations
A customs declaration tells the authority what is entering or leaving, and what it is worth. Licensed customs brokers make it. We pass them the documents, check that the details match the cargo and coordinate the timing with your booking.
Dangerous goods
Dangerous goods are cargo such as chemicals, batteries or aerosols that can cause harm in transit. Packing, marking, documents and carriage follow strict rules. We arrange the move through licensed handlers and carriers, and we need the safety data sheet at the start.
Bonded storage
Bonded storage holds goods under customs control before duties are paid or the goods move on. Only licensed bonded facilities may provide it. We arrange the space, and the facility handles the customs control.
Cargo insurance
Insurance covers loss or damage in transit under terms set by the insurer. Ayer Shipping is not an insurer. We arrange cover with insurers on the terms you choose, and we do not adjudicate claims. The insurer decides them under the policy.
Cross-boundary trucking
Trucks that cross between Hong Kong and mainland China need the right permits and drivers. We book cross-boundary trucking with licensed cross-boundary carriers, and we coordinate pickup and handover times.
House bills of lading
A house bill of lading is a transport document issued by a forwarder to the shipper. Issuing one needs the right licence, so we arrange it with a licensed partner.
