Storage and inventory coordination
We arrange space in third-party warehouses and coordinate receiving, counting and stock records. Ayer Shipping does not run the warehouse. We book the space, set the instructions and keep the stock list readable against your orders.

What it is
Storage is paid space for cargo that has to wait: between shipments, before a sale, or between a port and a customer. Inventory coordination means the warehouse records what came in, where it sits and what went out, and you can ask for that record.
We find a suitable third-party facility, agree the handling rules with it, and coordinate the receiving and release. The warehouse is a separate business. We are the single point that arranges it.
When to use it
- Cargo needs to wait before the next move.
- You hold stock in Hong Kong and need it recorded by item.
- You import in large lots and sell or ship out in smaller ones.
- You need short-term space for seasonal stock or an overflow.
What we handle
- Finding and booking warehouse space for pallets or cartons
- Receiving and checking cargo against the packing list
- Stock records by item
- Stock reports on request
- Release of stock against your instructions
How it runs
- Quote: you send the cargo and the storage period, and we find a suitable facility and price the space.
- Set-up: we agree the item list, labels and release rules with the warehouse.
- Receiving: cargo arrives, and the warehouse counts it against your packing list and notes any shortage or damage.
- Put-away: cargo is placed in a recorded location.
- Reports and release: we pass on the stock list when you ask, and stock is released against your written instructions.
What to send us for a quote
| Detail | Why we ask |
|---|---|
| Cargo type | Some goods need dry, cool or secure space |
| Pallet or carton count | Space is usually priced by pallet position or area |
| Dimensions and weight | To check stacking and rack limits |
| Storage period | Short and long storage are priced differently |
| Handling needs | Labelling, repacking or inspection |
Good to know
- Storage charges often run from the day cargo is received, with a minimum period. Ask how the period is counted.
- Handling charges for receiving and releasing are normally separate from the space charge.
- Count at receiving. A shortage or damage you report on the day is far easier to settle than one found weeks later.
