Freight procurement and supply chain review

For importers who want their freight looked at. We review how you buy and move freight, list what each lane costs and needs, and put options in writing. You decide what to change, and we book the option you choose.

What it is

A freight review looks at what you ship, where, how and on what terms. It compares your current routes, modes and Incoterms with the alternatives. It also compares carrier and haulier quotes line by line, so a lower total is not hiding a charge that the other quote leaves out.

The output is a written list of options with their trade-offs. It is a working document for your own decision. It does not promise savings. If you choose an option, we book it.

When to use it

  • You import regularly and have not looked at your routes lately.
  • Your freight quotes arrive in different formats and are hard to compare.
  • You are unsure whether your Incoterms still suit your business.
  • A route or a supplier has changed and you want the plan checked.
  • You pay for storage, demurrage or detention often and want to know why.

What we handle

  • Review of your current routes, modes and Incoterms
  • Request and comparison of carrier and haulier quotes
  • A written list of options with their trade-offs
  • Advice on documents, packing and consolidation
  • Booking of the option you choose
  • A line-by-line view of origin, freight and destination charges

How it runs

  • Scope: you send your recent shipments and tell us what you want to change.
  • Data: we sort the shipments by lane, mode, volume and terms, and list the gaps.
  • Quotes: we ask carriers and hauliers for quotes on the same basis, so they compare.
  • Options: we write the options with what each costs, what it needs and what it risks.
  • Decision: you choose. Nothing changes until you do.
  • Booking: we book the option you choose and set it up for your next shipments.

Good to know

  • Compare quotes on the same basis: same cargo, same terms, same charges. A rate that leaves out origin or destination charges is not the same product. See reading a freight quote.
  • Charges such as terminal handling, documentation fees, demurrage and detention sit outside the base freight rate. Look for them on every quote.
  • Cheapest is not always best. A slower route can cost more if it ties up stock.
  • A review is only as good as its data. The more shipments you share, the more the options reflect your business.

Questions

Will the review reduce my costs?

We cannot promise a result. The review shows the options and their trade-offs, and you decide.

Do I have to book through you afterwards?

No. The review is a written document you can use as you like. If you want us to book an option, we do.
