WF-02 / Warehousing and Fulfilment

Pick, pack and dispatch

Picking is taking the right items from stock. Packing is boxing them. Dispatch is handing them to the carrier. We coordinate the three in a third-party warehouse against your order list, so you do not have to run a packing line yourself.

What it is

When you sell or distribute in small quantities, the work is repeated for each order: find the item, check it, box it, label it, hand it over. Done by hand and without a system, this is where wrong items and missed cut-offs come from.

We arrange this work in a third-party warehouse. You send the orders. The warehouse picks and packs to your rules, and the carrier collects. We coordinate and check, and we do not operate the warehouse.

When to use it

  • You sell or distribute in small quantities and do not want to run a packing line.
  • You supply shops with mixed cartons made up from bulk stock.
  • You prepare kits or gift sets from several items.
  • You need goods relabelled or repacked before they ship out.

What we handle

  • Picking against your orders
  • Packing, labelling and carton marks
  • Packing slips and inserts as you specify
  • Handover to couriers, trucks or the airport
  • Stock updates after each dispatch

How it runs

  • Quote: you send the item sizes, a sample order and the packing instructions.
  • Set-up: we agree the order format, the pick rules and the packing standard with the warehouse.
  • Orders in: you send orders in the agreed format, and the warehouse prepares the pick list.
  • Pick and check: items are picked and checked against the order.
  • Pack and dispatch: items are packed and labelled, the carrier collects, and stock records are updated.

Good to know

  • Charges are usually set per order, per line and per item, plus packing material. Ask for each part to be stated.
  • Cut-off times matter. Orders that arrive after the daily cut-off wait for the next dispatch.
  • Heavy or odd-shaped items need their own carton rules. Send a photo and the dimensions with the quote.

Questions

Can you pack to my brand rules?

Yes. Send the packing instructions and a sample, and we ask the warehouse to follow them.

Which carriers can you hand over to?

Couriers, trucks and the airport, depending on the destination. We coordinate the handover that suits each order.
